Honda is planning to export diesel engine components from India to
international markets like Europe and Asia. This comes at a time when
the Japanese manufacturer has lined up 3-4 diesel cars to boost its

A 14 day strike by workers at Mahindra’s Igatpuri plant to protest
the suspension of a two employees ended on April 22. The suspension of
the workers was revoked after they tendered a written and unconditional
apology. The President of Bhartiya Kamgar Sena, affiliated to Shiv Sena,
Shri Suryakant Mahadik has given an assurance that workers would not
indulge in any breach of discipline in the future.

Ford has unveiled the all new Mondeo for China at the ongoing 2013
Shanghai Auto Show. The Mondeo also debuts the new 1.5-litre version of

An un-camouflaged 2013 Skoda Octavia has been spied testing by the
crew at PowerDrift. This is the third generation of the sedan and
unveiled for the global markets in October last year. The all-new
Octavia will be launched in India later this year and has already been
spied testing in Mumbai and Bengaluru.

Skoda has launched the Rapid Prestige limited edition at Rs 9 lakh
(ex-showroom Delhi). The special edition of the midsize sedan gets some

Lamborghini has unveiled a special edition of its flagship supercar
called the Aventador LP 720-4 50th Anniversario special edition. As the
name suggests, the car has been created to celebrate the Italian
automakers 50th anniversary and is the second car launched to
commemorate the occasion. Lamborghini has previously unveiled the
Aventador based Veneno at the Geneva Motor Show.

Mercedes-Benz India has aimed to achieve a double digit
growth for the year 2013. This was confirmed by CEO Eberhard Kern during
an interaction with the media at the launch of their new showroom in
Navi Mumbai. He said that 2012 had been a good year for them and that in
the first quarter of 2013 they achieved a growth of five per cent. This
is something they hope to increase by a significant amount in the
second quarter of this year.

Ford has unveiled a concept four-door sedan that has revived
the Escort moniker. The C-segment sedan had been a popular fixture in
the American automaker line up both in Europe and America for over
twenty years. It even had a three year run in the Indian market but was
eventually replaced by the Ikon. However, this car has been designed
specifically for the Chinese market and will slot into the one of the
fastest growing segments in the Peoples Republic; compact cars.
